I am a Marie Curie COFUND Postdoctoral Fellow under the USAL4EXCELLENCE Program. Before that, I was the inaugural Ramón Areces Fellow at Harvard University Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies. I also worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the research group of comparative politics at the University of Konstanz and as a predoctoral researcher at the University of Bamberg. I also developed research stays in Princeton Department of Politics and Vienna's Department of Government.

I earned my doctorate from the University of Bamberg, for which I received the Juan Linz Prize from Spain Centre for Political and Constitutional Studies and the Hans-Löwel-Preise from the University of Bamberg for my dissertation. Before that, I studied at the University of Valencia and Pompeu Fabra University.

My research explores the nexus of political representation, party politics, and the territorial distribution of power, with a focus on how personal characteristics of political elites interact with institutional settings to impact descriptive and substantive representation. I am particularly interested in how marginalized groups can enhance their influence. My research has been published in leading academic journals like Comparative Political Studies, Party Politics, Legislative Studies Quarterly, and th Journal of Elections, Public Opinion, and Parties.

 

Soy investigador postdoctoral Marie Curie COFUND en el marco del programa USAL4EXCELLENCE. Anteriormente, fui el primer investigador postdoctoral Ramón Areces en el Centro de Estudios Europeos Minda de Gunzburg de la Universidad de Harvard. También trabajé como investigador postdoctoral en el grupo de investigación de política comparada de la Universidad de Constanza y como investigador predoctoral en la Universidad de Bamberg. He desarrollado estancias de investigación en el Departamento de Política de la Universidad de Princeton y en el Departamento de Gobierno de la Universidad de Viena.

Me doctoré en la Universidad de Bamberg y por mi tesis recibí el Premio Juan Linz del Centro de Estudios Políticos y Constitucionales de España y el Hans-Löwel-Preise de la Universidad de Bamberg por mi tesis. Anteriormente estudié en la Universidad de Valencia y en la Universitat Pompeu Fabra.

Mi investigación explora el nexo entre la representación política, los partidos políticos y la distribución territorial del poder, centrándome en cómo las características personales de las élites políticas interactúan con los entornos institucionales para influir en la representación descriptiva y sustantiva. Me interesa especialmente cómo los grupos marginados pueden aumentar su influencia en las instituciones de gobierno. Mis investigaciones se han publicado en destacadas revistas académicas como Comparative Political Studies, Party Politics, Legislative Studies Quarterly y Journal of Elections, Public Opinion, and Parties.
